A very warm welcome to the website of our Committee on Professional Development of Teachers and Principals (COTAP).
COTAP is an advisory body which advises the Government on policies, practices and measures relating to the professional development of the teaching profession at different stages of professional growth.
We trust that a professional teaching force can effectively facilitate school development and provide quality education to our students. We earnestly look forward to working closely with all our stakeholders to contribute to this meaningful cause.
This website provides the latest information about the work of COTAP. You will also be able to find information on various teachers' professional development activities, as well as other related documents and useful links. We welcome your views and suggestions on COTAP's work or the content of this website. We would much appreciate it if these could be sent to the COTAP Secretariat for our continuous improvement.

To take forward COTAP's vision, mission, objectives and strategies, COTAP has launched an overarching project, T-excel@hk, which symbolises a teaching profession of excellence in Hong Kong with "T" standing for the teaching profession as a whole, including both teachers and school leaders. Eight areas of focus are being planned under T-excel@hk, and they will be prioritised and implemented in phases.

Professional Training Information Platform for School Teachers (PTIPS) [Beta Version]
Professional Training Information Platform for School Teachers (PTIPS) [courses/ activities NOT organised/
co-organised by the EDB] enables local teaching profession to have easy access to information on continuing
professional development programmes/ courses solely organised by tertiary institutions or other educational bodies.
The PTIPS will be developed in phases; in the first phase, only information on the professional training programmes/
courses offered by the five Teacher Education Universities will be provided. For information of courses/ activities
organised/ co-organised by the EDB, users should access to the EDB's Training Calendar System
(EDB TCS: https://tcs.edb.gov.hk/tcs/publicCalendar/start.htm?deskLang=en).
The beta version of the PTIPS is one of the deliverables of the first phase of the e-portal development under T-surf24/7 of T-excel@hk. Views and feedback are being collected from users for further enhancement on the new version of PTIPS which will be launched soon.
